Email QR Code Generator
Let people email you with one scan — subject and body pre-filled.
About Email QR Code Generator
An email QR code uses a mailto: URI to open the device's default mail app with the recipient address, subject line, and message body already filled in. The user just taps send. It's especially useful on print materials where you want people to contact you without the friction of typing an address.
Common uses
- Feedback requests on receipts or packaging
- Event programs with a pre-filled survey or RSVP email
- Print ads inviting people to request a quote
- Business cards for quick contact
- Support prompts on product inserts
Frequently asked questions
- Does the email send automatically?
- No. Scanning opens the mail app with the fields pre-filled. The user reviews and taps send manually.
- What if the user doesn't have a mail app set up?
- The mailto: link opens the default mail app. If none is configured, the phone may prompt the user to set one up or show an error. For web-only contact, a URL QR code linking to a contact form is more reliable.
- Can I include a pre-written message body?
- Yes. The message body field is optional but useful — pre-fill it with context like 'Hi, I scanned your QR code at [event]…' to make replies easier.
