URL QR Code Generator

Turn any website link into a scannable QR code in seconds.

About URL QR Code Generator

A URL QR code is the most versatile and widely used type. Paste any web address — the generator accepts it with or without https:// and normalizes it automatically. When scanned, the device opens the link in its default browser. Use it on print materials, product packaging, posters, business cards, or anywhere you want to bridge physical and digital.

Common uses

  • Restaurant menus linking to the digital version
  • Business cards pointing to your portfolio or LinkedIn
  • Product packaging linking to an instruction video
  • Event posters linking to the ticket page
  • Retail signage linking to a product page or discount

Frequently asked questions

Does the URL need to include https://?
No. The generator adds https:// automatically if you omit it. You can paste example.com, www.example.com, or https://example.com and it will work correctly.
Can I use a shortened URL?
Yes. Any valid URL works, including bit.ly, t.co, or custom short links. Just note that shortened URLs add a redirect step, which can slow scanning slightly.
Can I link to a specific page or anchor?
Yes. Paste the full URL including any path, query parameters, or fragment (e.g. example.com/page?ref=qr#section). The full address is encoded in the QR code.
Will the QR code break if the URL changes?
Yes — the URL is encoded directly into the QR code. If you want to change the destination without reprinting, use a redirect service and encode the redirect URL.
